Do Something – Day 1
// June 19th, 2011 // Youth News
Today we began our missions trip here in Princeton called “Do Something.” We stated the day by attending our church service at Bethel and we were commissioned by the congregation. After the service we had some mingle time with the congregation before we headed off to Rainbow Park for lunch. After lunch the youth did a team building exercise called African River. The kids had to cross the basketball court (the river) with only 5 sheets of paper (rafts). For more information about it ask one of the youth some time. The youth then did a quick garbage pick up of the park and then we headed back to church where we had an obstacle course set up for them to complete. Some parts were individual, some parts required team work. They do not know it yet but they will be completing the obstacle course every morning before they can eat breakfast.
After some free time we ate supper and then went on a prayer tour/walk of Milaca and Princeton. We hit many of our work sites as well as places that are important to the community like the Life Choices Center, the High Schools, and the county court house. When we got back we had a bonfire and worshiped. Jenny Warner gave a talk called “God Loves You.”
We would like to thank everybody for all the support we have received. If anyone would like to send any of the kids or leaders a warm fuzzy or small gift (snacks are usually appropriate) you may leave them in their buckets in the coat room or you may email Rachel Bazuin at rachbazuin09@yahoo.com and she will put them in their buckets for you.

Sounds like a great first day! God bless your week!

I am so excited about the ways you will bless people this week, and the ways you will be blessed back. I am proud of you all and your willingness to serve!
